HBO’s “Silicon Valley” kicks off its fourth season on April 23, channeling the start-up culture and venture capital climate of Northern California’s tech world. Palo Alto’s Rose & Crown, Reposado and Philz Coffee make cameo appearances in the show, and Rosewood Sand Hill, the VC fave in Menlo Park, plays itself. So it’s only fitting that Madera, Rosewood’s chic restaurant, salute the return of Richard Hendricks and the Pied Piper gang with a Hendricks’ Cucumber Cooler, perfect for negotiating capital infusions — or possession of the remote.
Now Ashlen Gianforcaro, Madera’s lounge manager, is sharing the cocktail recipe so you can sip it at home, too:
Muddle fresh basil leaves and a few slices of cucumber with 1.5 ounces Hendricks Cucumber Gin, .5 ounce St. Germaine and 3 ounces soda water. Strain over ice. Top with a 1.5-ounce splash of ginger beer. Garnish with cucumber and contemplate the folly of click-farm shenanigans.
