Google Pixel and Pixel XL owners are currently troubled with their devices as they are experiencing some particular issues. The latest complaint that made it to the Google product forums is the software freeze that occurs whenever they are using an app or just randomly without cause.
According to reports, customers complained over at the product forums that the Google Pixel and Pixel XL device freeze up for a few minutes before responding. Although not all experienced the same period of time of the glitch, it’s still something that many see as a major concern since the smartphone has been regarded to have the highest quality when it comes to software. Buyers of the device did not expect this issue to ever happen.
Reports also detailed that the freezing mostly happens randomly and there is no specific solution to it except to patiently wait for the Google Pixel to recover on its own. There are also some who resort to holding down the power button for a force reboot. Unfortunately, there is no definite answer to the cause of the freezing of the software.
Some say that the software freezing of the Google Pixel is due to an app called Life 360 which is a family locator app. Several users revealed that upon uninstalling the app, the device fixed the issue. But it cannot be pointed out as the main reason for the hiccup because there are users who experience the freezing even if they don’t have the app.
It’s also reported that Google suggested a third-party issue but Google Pixel users think otherwise since the exact same apps on a Nexus 6P with Android 7.1 did not encounter the same problem. One user also noted that the handset freezes more when utilizing Chrome. But then again, it randomly freezes when using other apps or performing other tasks so there is really no certainty to that speculation.
Software freezing isn’t the only problem that Google Pixel users have encountered. There are also some who reported problems with the camera, audio, LTE band 4 connectivity and others. Google has yet to release a fix for these issues.
